Plan your next sailing passage with confidence. Sail Planner is a route planner
for recreational sailors. Draw your course on a nautical chart, set your speed and
departure time, and instantly see the wind, waves and weather you can expect along
the way — at the time you will actually be there.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE
• Tap the chart to drop waypoints, drag to fine-tune, tap a marker to remove it.
• Great-circle distances in nautical miles and automatic ETAs for every waypoint.
• Set your departure time and cruising speed (0.5–12 knots).
• "Snap to Sea" optimises your route to follow open water and avoid land.
• OpenStreetMap base with the OpenSeaMap nautical overlay — lighthouses, buoys and
seamarks included.

SEE THE WEATHER ALONG YOUR PASSAGE
• Wind speed, gusts and direction.
• Wave height, direction and period.
• Pressure, temperature and rainfall.
• Forecasts sampled every few miles and matched to your estimated arrival time at
each point along the route.
• Powered by Open-Meteo forecast and marine data.

WATCH YOUR PASSAGE UNFOLD
• Drag the time-scrubber to preview conditions hour by hour, or press play to
animate the whole passage in about 15 seconds.
• A Windy-style animated wind field flows across the chart, coloured by speed and
faster where the wind is stronger, updating as you pan, zoom and scrub.
• A sailboat marker rides your route at the scrubbed time, turned to its heading.

IMPORT, EXPORT AND SAVE
• Import routes and tracks from GPX files.
• Open .gpx files straight from your file manager or messaging apps.
• Export your routes as GPX to share or use in other tools.
• Save and reload named routes — stored privately on your own device, no sign-up.
