About this app
The electronic patient record (ePA) from your LVM health insurance company offers you a secure and convenient way to manage your health data for life. Centralize your health data and share important information directly with your doctors.
The "LVM ePA" app is available free of charge. You log in using your digital identity.
The app can also be used to create your health ID, for example, for electronic prescriptions (e-prescriptions), without needing to use the ePA itself. This allows you to receive and conveniently redeem prescriptions digitally via the app from gematik GmbH – Gesellschaft für Telematikanwendungen der Gesundheitskarte mbH (gematik).

The development and approval of the electronic patient record is subject to strict legal requirements, such as the GDPR. As LVM Krankenversicherungs-AG, the best possible protection of your health data is of utmost importance to us. Personal identification is required to ensure secure access. Therefore, we verify your identity using your ID card and PIN when setting up the "LVM-ePA" app on your smartphone.
Who can access my data?
With your smartphone and the "LVM-ePA" app, initially only you have access to your data.
Without your consent, no one can view your data – not even us as your private health insurer.
You control who can access your electronic patient record (ePA) and the documents it contains: You can grant permissions and thereby determine who can view information and upload documents. Furthermore, you can hide documents and document categories that are particularly private for you from authorized doctors and other healthcare providers.
Requirements for use:
- Private comprehensive health insurance or supplementary health insurance with LVM Health Insurance.
- Health insurance number (KVNR).
- Android 14.0+ with NFC
- Children under 16 years of age who are covered under your policy cannot currently use the LVM-ePA.
