In Höchstädt we are looking for a very special species: the DemocraTier. Psst, it's shy, don't scare it! It would like to introduce you to an important topic: democracy. Sounds a bit boring and complicated? It is! No, just kidding😉 Democracy is colorful, diverse, exciting and admittedly often tiring, but one thing is definitely not: boring.

A castle is somehow not the most democratic place imaginable... you know, nobility, monarchy and all. But where is democracy at home? Wherever it is lived! That's why the DemokraTier takes you on a walk through Höchstädt where you get to know the central democratic values.

In addition to information and videos about democracy, the app also offers games such as a volunteer memory and the traffic signs of justice, a European project for a fairer coexistence.

In addition, the DemocraTier's friends have hidden in the city and are waiting to be freed by you. Once you have unlocked the entire friends list, you can return to the castle and pick up a democratic prize at the checkout.

The app is part of the exhibition “Walk with the Democrat” in Höchstädt Castle on the Danube. It consists of seven stations and, with the exception of two stations located in the castle, can be used regardless of the castle opening times.

Admission to the exhibition part in the castle is free.
