The journal Neuropädiatrie in Klinik und Praxis was published in 2002 by Prof. Dr. Fuat Aksu, dates established. It is the organ of the Society for Neuropediatrics e.V. (GNP) and its advanced training academy
The physical and mental development as well as possible disorders and diseases of the nervous system of children and adolescents are key topics in the original papers and overviews by nationally and internationally known authors.
The neurology of childhood and adolescence differs in many ways from that of adults. The neuropediatrist examines premature and newborn babies, infants, toddlers and school children as well as adolescents in different stages of development. The instrumental examination techniques and therapy methods used may only be interpreted and used taking into account the various stages of development.
The neurological diseases in children and adolescents have developed into an expanding field within paediatrics in recent years as a result of the enormous progress and the resulting considerable growth in therapy options. The journal for neurology of children and adolescents and their border areas takes this development into account.
"Neuropaediatrics in Clinic and Practice" appears four times a year, at the beginning of February, May, August and November. It is edited by Prof. Dr. med. Ulrike Schara, Essen and Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Lücke, Bochum.
