About this app

Sparring Timer – Your flexible timer for training and sparring

Plan rounds, breaks and exercises for BJJ, MMA, boxing, kickboxing, judo, ju-jitsu, wrestling, Muay Thai, Tabata, HIIT and fitness – on your phone, tablet or Android TV.

Round timer and Quick Setup

• Set round duration, break duration and number of rounds
• Adjust values using the controls or enter them with the keyboard
• Use Quick Setup directly on the home screen
• Keep your settings saved automatically

Custom training plans

Combine rounds, exercises and breaks. Set names, durations and repetitions. Edit, duplicate, reorder or delete sections and organize them into repeat and circuit blocks.

The app shows what comes next. Exercise names can be read aloud before they begin in your chosen app language. Select an available voice; speech output depends on your device and its text-to-speech service. Colors can also be customized for individual sections.

Examples and your own presets

Get started with the included presets and training plans, or adapt them to your sessions. Save your own timer configurations and manage your presets: select, update, rename or delete them.

Controls during training

Pause your session and resume it. Use Next to move to the next section or phase. Reset resets the timer; End finishes the session with your configured end signal.

Return to the home screen during training and reopen the timer display without ending your session. Controls are also available through the timer notification.

Random mode and countdowns

Random mode chooses each round's duration within your selected minimum and maximum times. Set or disable separate countdowns for the training start, rounds and breaks – including in training plans.

Sounds, volume and vibration

• Use built-in sounds or your own audio files
• Choose signals for round start, round end, countdown and training end
• Adjust signal volume and turn signals off
• Use vibration on devices with suitable hardware

Optional music controls

Lower music briefly during timer signals. Optionally, the timer can pause existing music playback when you pause, reset or finish training, and resume it when you continue or start your next session. Playback controls require notification access and a compatible music player.

Your look and your background logo

Choose background, text and outline colors for the start, round, exercise and break phases. Turn outlines off or restore default colors. Add a club or team logo that you can replace, hide or remove.

Phone, tablet and Android TV

Phone and tablet layouts support portrait and landscape. On Android TV, control the app directly with your remote. Manage presets and training plans on the TV. Transfer your own sounds and logos using a QR code over the same local network.

The TV version runs independently – without phone remote control or screen casting.

Three languages and Android 7.0+

English, German and Italian: choose your language directly using the language button on the home screen.

The timer keeps running while the screen is locked or you use another app. Sounds play through the output selected by Android, such as the device speaker, a Bluetooth speaker or headphones.
