The games you know from the schoolyard – Tic Tac Toe, Dots and Boxes, Pencil Race, Marbles – plus a few classics from the games table. Small, simple games for a spare minute: on your own against the computer, or with a second player on one device or on two.

THE GAMES
• Tic Tac Toe – three in a row, drawn on squared paper
• Four in a Row – four pieces in a row before the other player gets there
• Mancala – the sowing game with Kalah rules, sowing and capturing
• Dots and Boxes – draw a line, close a box, take another turn
• Picture Pairs – turn over the face-down cards and find the pairs
• Picture Puzzle – a sliding puzzle, with the pictures supplied or your own photo
• Card War – the higher card wins, and a tie means war
• Marbles – flick, hit, knock the gray marbles into the hole
• Pencil Race – a race on squared paper, flicked or square by square
