About this app

Aves can handle all sorts of images and videos, including your typical JPEGs and MP4s, but also more exotic things like multi-page TIFFs, SVGs, old AVIs and more!

It scans your media collection to identify motion photos, panoramas (aka photo spheres), 360° videos, as well as GeoTIFF files.

Navigation and search is an important part of Aves. The goal is for users to easily flow from albums to photos to tags to maps, etc.

Aves integrates with Android (from KitKat to Android 14, including Android TV) with features such as app shortcuts and global search handling. It also works as a media viewer and picker.

Ratings and reviews

Honestly my favorite pictures app period. Navigation is easy because all the buttons are in places that make sense (easier said than done for a lot of other apps), and deleted images get pushed to a recycle bin before permanent deletion. The home screen widgets also work well, although I wish there was a way to select specific images instead of creating a new album for one image to show per widget. Overall 4.5/5

Absolutely phenomenal Gallery app, very intuitive, clean, smooth, and almost perfect for me! There's a few things that I would like to see. I would like to see the Bottom Navigation Bar fully customizable in terms of themes and being able to place the options in any order in addition to placing more things on the Bottom Navigation Bar. Same thing with the main Navigation Menu. I would love it if we can place it closer to the bottom left of the phone screen. 😊

The best gallery app of them all. This app is what Google Photos should be, allowing creation of device folders for ultimate organization. The map features and photos tags are next level brilliant. I love the vault feature also. One oddity, if I choose a photo in Avea to edit and choose Google Photos, for some reason the edited photo has its time stamp bumped 4 hours into the future. This happens consistently when I launch Google Photos editor from the Aves menu.
