About this game

Chess Ascent trains the chess you actually play — not a pile of random puzzles.

Build the openings you want to use. Drill those lines until they are automatic. Play a computer that scales with you. Then pull tactics out of your games so the next session is aimed at the mistakes you keep making.

Train the way strong players actually improve

• Research — Learn real openings from the encyclopedia, then play them with help, then without it
• Design — Build your own repertoires, move by move, on the board
• Practice — Face your lines against the computer until they hold up
• Play — An opponent that gets harder as you win. When the game ends, turn it into study
• Analyze — Find the repertoire moves you miss, strengthen weak lines, and extract puzzles from your games overnight
• Improve — Tactics, strategy, conversion, eval training, and endgames
• Challenge — Take on a powerful engine with the help tools when you want a fight
• Forge — Write your own lessons and come back to them in Learn

Earn laurels as you work. Climb the Chess Ascent leaderboard.

This is a full chess gym on your phone: openings, middlegames, endgames, and a repertoire that belongs to you.
