Setil is an open-source expense-splitting app that makes managing shared costs simple.

Whether you are organising a group trip, sharing household bills, or splitting everyday expenses with friends, Setil keeps everything together and shows each person exactly where they stand - without receipts and repayments getting lost in the group chat.

Create a group, invite your friends, and record expenses as they happen. Balances update in real time across everyone’s devices, giving the whole group a clear and consistent view of what has been paid and what is still owed.

SPLIT EXPENSES YOUR WAY

Not every cost needs to be divided equally. Setil lets you:
• Split expenses equally between selected members
• Assign exact amounts to each person
• Include only the people involved in a purchase
• Record payments when members settle their balances

SIMPLER SETTLEMENTS

Setil calculates a global balance for every member instead of maintaining a complicated chain of individual debts. Its settlement algorithm then turns those balances into a clear, efficient set of suggested payments.
That means less maths, fewer unnecessary transfers, and a simpler way for everyone to Setil up.

REAL-TIME GROUP EXPENSES

Transactions and balances are synchronised using Firebase Firestore, so changes appear across the group as they happen. Members can also receive notifications when someone joins, adds an expense, or records a payment.

OPEN SOURCE AND MODERN

Setil is an open-source project built with Vue 3, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, shadcn-vue, Firebase, Capacitor, and Vercel.

The source code is publicly available for anyone interested in exploring how Setil works, reporting an issue, or contributing to its development.
