About this app

Couloir is a mobile mapping application designed for mountain sports enthusiasts: ski touring, mountaineering, hiking, and paragliding.

Developed as an alternative to the now-discontinued Fatmap service, Couloir offers comprehensive 2D and 3D map visualization, adapted to the constraints of the terrain and outdoor activities.

2D MAPPING
- Interactive map with multiple basemaps: IGN SCAN 25, OpenTopoMap, Sentinel-2 satellite
- Specialized overlays: ski touring routes, slopes
- Permanent GPS position bar with real-time coordinates
- Quick copy of GPS coordinates with a long press
- Geolocation on the map

3D MAPPING
- Three-dimensional terrain visualization
- Selection of basemaps and overlays identical to the 2D view
- Display of landmarks on the 3D terrain

WAYPOINTS AND TRACKS
- Creation of points of interest and tracks (routes)
- Display of statistics: elevation gain, maximum/minimum altitude, distance
- Import and export in GPX format for interoperability with dedicated GPS devices and other applications
- Complete management from the Data tab

OFFLINE MODE
- Download map areas for use without an internet connection
- Access to maps without a mobile network
