Choose a craft, choose what you are making (a 6" hoop, a bookmark, a pillow, a baby blanket, one pegboard) and pick a photo, or start from one of the built-in samples. Crop it to shape and the pattern builds in seconds, right on your phone. The chart zooms from one stitch to the whole design, with a minimap, in colors, symbols or both. Tap a color to light it up on the chart. Used as a perler bead pattern maker, it tells you exactly how many beads of each color to buy. Crochet and knitting use your own yarn, so the graphgan creator gives each color of a pixel crochet pattern a letter and a plain name instead.

PRINT-READY PDF
Export a PDF you can print on Letter or A4: a cover, the color key, and chart pages with symbols, a bold line every ten cells, row and column numbers on every page, and a map of where each page sits. Crochet and knitting patterns add row-by-row color runs, so the knitting chart maker reads out every row for you. You can also share it as a PNG. A bead pattern creator that counts for you means no guessing at the craft store.

ADJUST UNTIL IT'S RIGHT
Change the size, the number of colors (up to 60 for cross stitch), Bold or Detailed shading, and Reduce confetti to clear away single stray stitches. The chart re-converts while you watch. As with any pixel pattern maker, fewer colors give a bolder, easier pattern; a bold heart makes a lovely first try in the alpha pattern maker. Save, rename and duplicate patterns in your library.

PRIVATE AND OFFLINE
Every conversion, from a photo to cross stitch or to fuse beads, runs on your phone, so Gingham works as a cross stitch pattern maker offline. Your photos are never uploaded, there is no account, and no photo permission to grant: pictures come in through Android's photo picker. Only the purchase itself, through Google Play, and anonymous usage analytics leave the device.
