A lacquered lunch box and a tray of food: rice, salmon, rolled omelette, edamame, maki and more. Turn each piece, find where it fits, and pack the box until it is full.
Bento is a calm, satisfying packing puzzle. Every piece has to go in, nothing may overlap or stick out, and the little sauce dishes stay where they are. Easy boxes fill in a moment; Expert boxes have only a handful of ways to pack them.
HOW YOU PLAY
• Drag a piece from the tray into the box. It drops onto the nearest place where it fits, and an outline shows that place before you let go.
• Tap a piece to turn it a quarter. Pieces never flip, so a shape and its mirror image are not the same.
• Drag a boxed piece to move it, or out of the box to put it back.
• Fill the box to make lunch ready.
HINTS THAT HELP
Stuck? The hint points at a piece, then shows where it goes, and can put it in for you. If the box can no longer be finished, it shows which piece has to come out.
280 BOXES, FOUR DIFFICULTIES
• Easy – small boxes and a five-level tutorial
• Medium – six or seven pieces
• Hard – eight or nine pieces and only a few ways to pack them
• Expert – up to twelve pieces, dishes in the way, at most four solutions
