About this app

Roam Live is an Android app for IRL live streaming. Broadcast your phone's camera to Twitch, YouTube, Kick, OBS at home, or any other compatible destination using using RTMP, RTMPS, or SRT.

Stream directly from your phone, or send the camera feed to OBS Studio on a computer at home and control it with OBS WebSocket controls.

Features:
- Read public Twitch and Kick chat on your phone through a chat panel. Youtube chat is currently experimental.
- Hear incoming chat with text to speech (TTS), even if your chat panel is hidden
- Use OBS WebSocket controls to control your OBS at home. Start, stop, and change scenes remotely from the RoamLive app while your OBS Streams for you at home
- Add text, images, and web overlays to your broadcast. Show your chat to viewers using Roam Chat web overlay
- Show live text values for time, date, battery, bitrate, compass, and stream duration, plus optional GPS values
- Stream at 480p, 720p, or 1080p, with automatic bitrate adjustment and reconnection after connection drops
- Torch toggle for dark areas or streaming at night
- Record a local copy while streaming for clips, edits, or VODs
- Use front and rear cameras together with picture in picture on supported phones (Warning: this can overheat the phone quickly)
- Quick controls and quick access from the main screen
- Black out the phone screen while streaming for increased privacy while IRL and screen saving
- Customizable BRB button to quickly go BRB. You can upload an image in app or chose a scene if using OBS Connection.
- Save up to five streaming destinations
- Automatic bitrate adjustment
- Automatic reconnection after connection drops
- Microphone and camera mute buttons

Stream to one destination at a time only. Stream in landscape only, portrait streaming is not yet supported. Youtube chat relies on an unofficial interface and may be interrupted by platform changes. TTS requires a compatible offline Android speech voice.

You need a compatible stream address and any accounts required by your chosen service. We recommend using Tailscales when configuring OBS.

Requires Android 10 or newer. Camera and microphone access required. Location is optional and only used for GPS overlays. Set up guides and overlays options are available at https://roamlive.app

What’s new

- Combined the go live and status pill. Gives more space for chat now and tidies up the interface a bit.
- Added a confirm to stop pop up so you can't accidentally end stream.
- Errors and connection issues shown in the banner area instead of in the status pull
- Chat panel connection status shrunk down to save space.
- Auto bitrate reacts a few seconds earlier when a climb overshoots a slow link.
