About this app

Run an eye test at home in about two minutes. EyeCare Pro uses your front camera to check your distance from the screen and holds you in range while you test, so the result means something. Then 8 eye exercises for the ache screens leave behind.

Most people only notice a vision problem once it is obvious. This is the step in between: a home vision test you can repeat every few weeks and compare against your last one.

WHY THE DISTANCE CHECK MATTERS

An eye test only works at a fixed viewing distance. Older apps ask you to guess, or to dig out a tape measure. EyeCare Pro reads your face-to-screen distance live and verifies it before every test. Prefer the old way? Manual distance mode is still there.

7 EYE TESTS

• Visual acuity: Snellen chart, or the Tumbling E chart for children who cannot read letters yet. One eye at a time, scored as 20/x with a Normal, Mild, Moderate or Severe rating.
• Color blindness test: 38 shuffled Ishihara plates covering protan, deutan and tritan types. Kids Mode swaps the numbers for animal shapes for under-8s.
• Astigmatism test: Sunburst and Clock Dial charts, plus an estimated axis direction.
• Contrast sensitivity: a fading-letter test with screen brightness locked so it cannot skew your score.
• Amsler grid: hold the center dot, tap anywhere the lines look wavy or missing.
• Duochrome: the red-green comparison that hints at short sight or long sight.
• Near vision: a digital Jaeger card, J1 to J10, for reading distance after 40.

8 EYE EXERCISES FOR DIGITAL EYE STRAIN

Eye exercises will not change your prescription. They do help with the computer eye strain that builds up over a long day at a screen.

• 20-20-20 timer, set to 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minute intervals
• Focus shifting between a near and a far target
• Eye rolling, both directions, adjustable speed
• Palming for 60 to 120 seconds, with a breathing guide and optional ambient sound
• Figure-8 tracking, scored out of 100
• Guided blinking, for eyes that dry out on long screen days
• Zooming, a near-far thumb drill
• Directional stretches across 8 directions with audio cues

TRACK IT OVER TIME

Acuity for each eye plots on a timeline, so you see drift instead of guessing at it. There is a daily streak, a weekly goal of 5 sessions, badges at 7, 30 and 90 days, and a recap every Sunday.

SET IT UP ONCE

Calibrate your screen size against a credit card. Tell the app your age and whether you wear glasses or contacts, and the tests adjust. Reminders for exercises, weekly tests and streaks are all optional.

WHO IT IS FOR

Anyone whose eyes ache after a work day and wants eye exercises that take two minutes. Parents running a child's first eye test at home before booking an optometrist. Anyone over 40 wondering when the menu got blurry. People between eye exams who want a number to compare.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Can this replace an eye exam?
No. It is a home eye test, not an optometrist. Use it to notice a change, then book a real eye exam.

Can children use it?
Yes. The Tumbling E chart works for kids who cannot read letters, and Kids Mode uses animal shapes instead of numbers for under-8s.

Do I have to measure the distance myself?
No. The front camera does it and re-checks before every test. Manual distance mode is there if you want it.

Will eye exercises improve my eyesight?
They will not change a prescription. They help with tired, dry eyes after long screen sessions.

What if I wear glasses or contacts?
Set that once during setup and your results are recorded with the correction noted.

EyeCare Pro is a screening tool, not a medical device, and it does not replace an eye exam. It flags things worth looking at. It does not diagnose. If a result looks off, or your vision changes suddenly, see an optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Run your first eye test tonight. Start the eye exercises tomorrow morning.
Check your vision at home in 2 minutes: acuity, color blindness, astigmatism.
