About this app

"Tracker: find my car" saves where you parked your vehicle. It shows you the way back.

No account. No server. No ads. Nothing you save ever leaves your phone.

AUTOMATIC SAVING

Tracker can save your parking spot for you. It works out that you have stopped driving and started walking, and it notices when your car Bluetooth or Android Auto disconnects. You do not need to press anything, and you do not need to remember anything.

A notification then asks whether you want to add the level or a photo. At that moment you can still see your car.

This is optional, and it is off until you turn it on.

LEVEL AND NOTE

GPS cannot tell you which floor of a car park you are on. Type the level yourself. Add a short note, for example "blue pillar, near the lift". Add a photo of the bay.

PARKING METER

Set how long you paid for. Tracker warns you before your time ends, and again when it is over. You can add 30 minutes straight from the notification. While the meter runs, the time left shows as an ongoing notification, so you can see it without opening anything.

COMPASS ARROW

A map is not accurate enough over the last 150 metres. Tracker shows a large arrow that points at your car, with the distance in a straight line. This is the part that locates the car when you are already close.

HOME SCREEN WIDGET

Put your parking spot on your home screen. The level, the address and the time left on the meter, without opening the app.

PARKING HISTORY

Every spot you save is kept, so you can look back at where you left the car.

THIRTEEN LANGUAGES

English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Estonian.

PRIVACY

Tracker has no account, no server and no analytics. There is no third-party code in the app.

Your parking spot, your notes and your photos stay on your phone. We have no server, so there is nowhere for us to send your data even if we wanted to.

The map, the street name and the directions come from Google Maps. Google receives those coordinates. We do not.

- See the distance to your car at once, with no internet needed
- Open walking or driving directions in your maps app when you are far away
- Follow the arrow over the last stretch
- Tap "I found my car" when you arrive

WHERE IT HELPS

Airport parking. Shopping mall garages. Multi-storey car parks where every level looks the same. Unfamiliar streets in a city you do not know. Stadium and festival parking lots. Valet drop-offs, where you never saw where the car went.

BEFORE YOU START

Tracker needs your location to save and find your car.

Automatic saving needs two further permissions: location set to "Allow all the time", and permission to read your physical activity. Both are optional. The app is fully usable without them, and you save the spot with one button instead.

To warn you before your meter ends, Android asks permission to set an exact alarm. Without it the warning still arrives, but it can drift — and a warning that drifts is how you get a ticket anyway.
