About this app

LangTool is a front-end for the LanguageTool open source proof-reading program. It finds spell errors and also grammar problems.

Chose among more than ten different languages, enter a text to check and the program will send it to the LanguageTool server for checking. Mistaken words or expressions are highlighted and correction suggestions provided.

been using this app for a long time, im happy it exists. it could use some updates like fixing some of the minor bugs like failing to correct or editing the wrong text (idk what causes it) or small ux improvements like sorting the second category differently so that the special characters are after the letters instead of before so that the default would be more sensible e.g. be dutch dutch instead of currently dutch dutch (belgian) Thanks for fixing the early 2026 bug quickly!

This is undoubtedly the worst app I've ever encountered. As a developer myself, I have to be direct: this reflects the work of someone who has cut corners. There seems to be a desire for quick results without putting in the necessary effort. The app lacks reliability, consistently fails to identify errors accurately, and crashes frequently while displaying network errors.

Ok, it works. A bit clunky, cuz you have to exit the active app to go to this one and paste your text. No prob. And then you get a choice to correct it to take it back to the app you were using. It'd be great to have a "copy text" button. However there's none. Long press "copy all" copies everything on the page! Like literally every word on the page. So, it's a manual selecting your text only- pain! I'd think it might be an easy fix with a "copy text" button. I may be wrong.
