A once-prosperous Imperial province, the Plaguelands are now covered in fear and darkness. Its inhabitants have turned into endlessly wandering souls. Your goal is to survive as long as you can in this fantasy adventure RPG.

Ratings and reviews

Love the game, love the concept. And definitely love the foraging and building aspects. But two things. There should be more weapons able to be crafted with more simple items. Especially since half the items are so hard to find and get to. And second, its been saying that the servers are under maintenance for over 24 hours. Its never done this before but if you want people please to keep playing, you have to be able to solve problems or maintenance quickly

Thematic, atmospheric, and inherently addictive. Grim Soul has a great formula and an enticingly expansive array of items to collect as you expand both your stronghold and your arsenal. The durability system is unapologetically designed to entice players to spend money, but you don't need to do so to progress. I think the low durability is probably the most frustrating aspect, but if you enjoy min-maxing efficiency, there is almost a sort of charm in doling out resources for your goals.

I've been playing this game for years, and I absolutely love it. As others have stated, it's a challenging game, but totally worthwhile. You don't need to spend money to progress in the game, but I've found it's one of the few games I'm happy to buy extras, particularly the Scarlet Hunt events. My only criticism is that the developers have left unfinished parts of the game for years, such as the boat, the wagon, and the warhorse. I wish they could be included in updates, or removed altogether.
