Huts is a map for the Finnish outdoors. Lean-to shelters, wilderness huts, saunas, campfire spots, ski trails, hiking routes, beaches, disc golf courses, outdoor gyms, caravan sites and national parks — all on one map, instead of scattered across ten different websites.
WHAT IS ON THE MAP
Over 40,000 places and thousands of routes across Finland. Each one tells you what actually decides the trip: whether the shelter has firewood, whether you can sleep there, where to collect the key, what it costs, whether it is wheelchair accessible, whether dogs are allowed.
ROUTES AND NAVIGATION
Pick a trail and follow it on the ground. You see the distance, the climb, and where along the way there is a shelter, a sauna, a fire pit or parking. Driving directions get you the whole way, including to places at the end of a forest track with no address.
WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL
Download an area before you leave and the map, the places and the trails keep working where there is no coverage. Battery saver stretches the day when there is no charger coming.
SHARE WHERE YOU ARE
Send people you choose a link that shows them where you are — useful on a long hike, or when somebody is waiting for you at the other end. It lasts only as long as you want it to, and stops when you stop it.
SEARCH IN YOUR OWN WORDS
Ask in whole sentences: "lean-to by a lake near Kuopio" or "lit ski trail". The app turns that into map filters.
FREE, NO ACCOUNT NEEDED
Browsing the map, searching and getting directions need no sign-in at all. A free account adds offline areas, your own lists, location sharing, and the ability to add photos and reviews.
The data comes from the Lipas sports facility registry, Metsähallitus, municipalities and the owners of the places themselves — and it is corrected continuously. Found a mistake, or something missing? Tell us: jeff@huts.fi
