About this app

With the Suomi.fi application, you can electronically receive messages sent by authorities using the service directly to your device instead of by paper mail. Messages include invoices, messages requiring confirmation of receipt and decisions. The Digital and Population Data Services Agency is responsible for the service.

You can also use the Suomi.fi application to submit additional information to several authorities, for example for an application you have filed. Messages between your device and the servers will be encrypted, ensuring that the use of the Suomi.fi app will be reliable and secure.

You can also use the Suomi.fi application on behalf of a company if you have the authority to sign for it alone.

When using the application for the first time, the app requires strong authentication with banking IDs or a mobile certificate. After this, you can identify yourself with a PIN code set for the application or fingerprint recognition on your device. However, the application may occasionally direct you to use strong identification again for information security reasons.

You can use the app with at most five active devices. You can manage your devices in the app settings. The app can be used by one user at a time on the same phone.

So far it's worked exactly as the description, easy to set up and access, like the ability to see messages from different authorities, with "paper" mail becoming less and less, this is a real asset in the digital age.

There seems to be an authentication bug where a user can view the messages without entering any sort of credentials when a notification arrives and the user taps on it. It happened just now and I had both the PIN and fingerprints enabled, but the App, when it opened, displayed the PIN screen for a second then showed the entire message. Once I closed the App and opened it again, it requested strong Auth and the creation of a new PIN...

Requires update, but on update page says my phone is no longer supported. What about reducing consumption buying new phones every year? I think app for receiving official messages should run even on 20 years phone with Android 2.0. Nothing requiring fast modern phone should be required by MESSAGING app with few pages. Bring strong cryptography with the app and don't rely on OS strength. Write simple native app (it is more painful, then webview, but webview simplest apps start for ages).
