The Yle app keeps you up to date and in the middle of events. We offer Finland's most reliable news from Finland, the world and your own locality. For sports fans, we deliver exciting moments live and in the best parts.

With the Yle app, you can also be a part of the events yourself: vote for your UMK favorite, chat, play Word Pyramid and test your sports or knowledge of the world in Tietäjä games.

Ratings and reviews

Offers fairly large range of news. You can read all of them without any costs. No advertisements also. Great app to read news. App doesn't support Android feature to select text and search from web. Nor it does support horizontal view regarding viewing images.

Handy for quick updates and interesting local articles

Unlike the old app, I cannot set my list (Omat) to show me only English news. You can still read the English news but you must go through menus each time. Selecting "News" or "Yle News" as the Omat categories has no effect. In the old app in the settings, I could unselect Finnish, Swedish, Sámi etc. languages and only display English. EDIT: No improvements from the developers, had to uninstall and use the website. Pity, the old app was great.
