Every day, Joie suggests a concrete action that takes just two minutes.
Joie might suggest you jot down a great thing you enjoyed, call someone you love, take five minutes to breathe, or do something you've been putting off for too long. It contains over 100 concrete actions, most of which take less than 5 minutes.
If you don't like an action, you can move on to another. You can also keep your favorites, remove those you no longer want to see, and add your own.
The app also includes a journal where you can record your mood, your joys, your gratitude, your successes, your thoughts, or simply what you want to remember from your day.
Over time, you can review what you've written and the actions you've taken. After a year, the app can even show you what you noted on the same date the previous year.
There are also tools you can use whenever you want: guided breathing, meditation, cards, resources, and goal tracking.
And finally, there's the community—the other participants who share good news, songs, books, movies, and podcasts. Anything that makes them smile!
You can also answer questions and send them to someone. Before sending a question, you answer it yourself. Your answer accompanies the question. This sometimes leads to conversations you would never have thought to start.
You can choose a partner, send a nice message to someone, or keep the ones you receive in your jar to reread later.
No one is ranked. Joy is a personal emotion; we all experience it differently, and there's no reason to compare ourselves to others.
The Joy app is free and ad-free.
Why did I create it?
Initially, I ran a group about joy on WhatsApp. Around a hundred people participated.
I really enjoyed the discussions that took place there, but everyone had to keep up, which wasn't realistic.
So I started developing a website so that everyone could find the suggestions as needed.
The website gradually became Joie (Joy).
My name is Aurélia. I created Ma Vie Joyeuse (My Joyful Life) because I'm convinced that we can train our attention to see more of what makes us feel good, what amazes us, and what connects us to others.
I'd like Joie to become an app you naturally open in the morning.
You look at what it suggests for today, you do what resonates with you, and you continue your day.
Reading comfort
The text adapts to your phone's screen size, up to twice its original size. The dark theme adapts to your phone's screen, or can be forced to light or dark mode. If you have animation reduction enabled, the app respects it.
Your data
No ads, no trackers, no resale of your data. No password to remember either: your first name, your email, and you're all set. You can delete your account from the app, without having to contact anyone.
