About this game

INFINITUM 120+ Card expansion is now live!

Dive into the dark fantasy world of the Shattered Realms and join the battle against evil. Build your deck as a cunning rogue, a brutal warrior, or a mysterious Seeker wielding arcane magic. Or create your own class and play as who- or whatever you want to be! Start playing today, collect cards and create a unique deck with access to over 300 cards and see how far your deck will take you into the corrupted lands of Umbris.

With a number of puzzle-like card battles, every step of your heroic adventure offers new tactical choices to improve your deck-building strategy. Collect cards that match your playstyle, avoid disastrous events and build your strategy before the forces of evil overwhelm you.

Dawncaster offers unique card battle mechanics to even the most veteran of deck-building card game players. Though most of the gameplay should feel familiar, the ability to combine RPG class mechanics into deck building, weapons, enchantments, and its unique energy system are exciting additions to the card game genre!

Discover the mystery of the missing ‘Dawncaster’, a hero of legend who has been lost in the corrupted realm of Umbris. Use your deck-building skills to slay monsters and explore the darkest depths of a desperate world through handcrafted illustrations, and dialogue, and shape its future through your choices.

Dawncaster is offered as a complete card game. You get access to all cards, classes, and content with your purchase. There is no need to buy packs or tokens or waste time on timers or ads. Future content will be offered through expansions at the same, single price per adventure kind of deal.

With randomized encounters, unique classes, and choices to explore, playtime could easily reach the tens of hours for those that enjoy a roguelike card battle challenge! Additional difficulty options are available for those that seek to push the limits of their strategic insight (and/or luck).

The game definitely has some good bones, but I feel it needs some tweaking for it to be great. The first thing is that it's almost impossible to get a build going with how many cards there are. Most of the time, you'll end up with a bunch of cards that don't work with each other. They should break the cards down to some sort of categories and/or decks that you get to pick a random card from instead of a pool of EVERY card In the game (just an idea). I have more thoughts, but word limit.

Really fun game. I don't play a ton of deck builders but I've really enjoyed this. Latest updated added a new mode that is a lot of fun too. It is VERY grindy to unlock new class features. Like I've spent a lot of time on this game already and am not even close to halfway through any of the classes. Aside from that it's awesome. But I find the gameplay gets a bit stale while you try to earn enough XP to get a new weapon or ability (the levels that only earn a new player portrait kill me).

Like the game but too many things aren't explained well or are glitchy (ie, the enemy's snares ending up as optional cards in my deck). The UI is kind of hard to read at times because of some minor icon overload, a lot to keep track of even when it shouldn't matter. Lack of course correction in progression either in deck or in choices, and story/challengewise it's the exact same thing each time. Ranking up is also a pain making the game quite monotonous. Instead try: Night of the Full Moon

Hey reviewer. The Shapechanges require you to 'channel', meaning you have to end the turn with at least 1 energy. There should be a tooltip on the card effect explaining this further. Hope this helps!
