Updated: thank you to the dev team for the response, you were kinder than I deserved after my frustrated and snarky review. I was able to finish my renewal the next day. The 24 hour thing is a real inconvenience, but it eventually worked. Original review: Second year trying to use this infernal app, no better than last time. After submitting my card information, the app closed completely. After relaunching it, of course there is no record of anything I've done, and I'm locked out for 24 hours.

Glad to hear it worked the next day! We understand the 24 hour hold is frustrating but right now it's required by TxDMV to accommodate their backend system processing when a vehicle registration renewal transaction isn't successfully completed in a single session. We do appreciate your feedback and the updated review.

I'm on an Pixel 7. I was able to create an account, have my DL on file, and scan my registration stickers to inventory my vehicles. However, I'm now trying to register one of vehicles and the app crashes after I agree to the terms then press "Start Renewal". When reopening the app, the app says that I can't again start another renewal for 24 hours. I've attempted to do this over multiple days and the app keeps crashing in the same spot.

We've deployed a fix that was impacting devices running Android v14. If you still need to renew your registration, please feel free to try the app again.

Good concept, poor execution. The 24 hour lockout is absolutely ridiculous especially when it is not user's fault (i.e. app crashes, verification of settings while in app session). Yes I know as you've said multiple times its a TX backend issue. Maybe additional warning pop up going back will lock out while in session would help. Had no idea checking settings would block. Also have manually enter the exact same info like address that is already in profile w/ no option to load profile info.

Thanks for your review and feedback. The app sends push notifications alerting users to the possibility of a session timeout; but we do understand the frustration this lockout causes. And yes, being able to auto-populate information you've already provided is on our list of future product enhancements as we continue to make TxT better for Texans.
