About this app

The Leap Top-Up app allows you to instantly check your balance, top-up your Leap Card and purchase tickets - directly from your NFC-enabled device.

Click the app and simply hold your Leap Card to the back of your NFC-enabled Android smartphone to instantly check your balance, purchase or collect a pre-paid ticket, or top-up your Leap Card – anytime, anywhere.

Key Features:
* Check your balance – see the current balance of any Leap Card
* Top-up instantly by using the dial to select a top-up value or tap to enter your desired amount
* Purchase pre-paid tickets (e.g. Dublin Bus Rambler and Bus Éireann Zonal tickets) and instantly load onto your Leap Card
* Collect pre-paid tickets e.g. Bus Éireann TaxSaver tickets or tickets bought online from LeapCard.ie
* View your last 5 transactions and last top-up value.
* View your proximity to daily/weekly capping values
* Receive receipts via email for top-ups or purchases made via the app
* Save your payment details
* View your card information at a glance
* View Ticket information for tickets on your Leap Card
* View TFI 90 fare details in the app banner
* Submit the customer support query from the app

Note: The Leap Top-up app is only available on NFC-enabled Android devices running Android 6.0 or later.

* Please Note: Users of some NFC-enabled Android devices may experience issues using the app due to the type of NFC technology within their device. The Leap Top-up App requires devices to be capable of “NFC Read/Write” functions. Some entry-level NFC devices are only capable of “NFC Card Emulation”, which is not sufficient for using the Leap Top-up App.

When holding my leap card to the back of my mobile where the NFC sensor is located, an error message pops up, saying that quit and reopen if the error persists. It only manages to show the account top menu once in a numerous attempts. If you are in a rush, you will miss the train with this app. Disappointed. I hope this will be fixed as soon as possible.

I've been using the app for the past 6 months or so a few times a week to check the balance and top up my leap card with my debit card. Works flawlessly every single time. No issues with card detection or topping up. Grand job. I remember the app used to be inconsistent back when it first came out and I stopped using it for ages but it looks fixed to me.

Worst app ever, going to uninstall. Why publish an app that doesn't work? It can read the leap card about 1 in 30 attempts. Tried the top up on one occassion it opened - got charged to bank card but didn't top up leap card. Not sure when Customer Service will ever acknowledge email requesting refund. 4/4/24 Still no refund on credit card 3 weeks later. Customer Care do not respond to emails. They keep posting to people's reviews that refunds get processed - but that is not true.
