About this app

Have fun and improve Japanese reading skill and vocabulary.
You can read Japanese article with a wide variety of topics. We analyze and segment each sentence in a Japanese article by an open source library, break down the words, and translate each word to your own language. Furigana is shown above Kanji characters, and you can also tap any word in an article for meaning or add it to a flashcard collection to learn it later. For people who are learning Japanese for JLPT test, you can easily highlight words by JLPT level N1, N2, N3, N4, N5.

We already support 11+ languages, and are always open to more!

A decent effort. This is free and allows you to view offline, as well as save it for later. Also uses flashcards which I haven't tested yet. It does actually allow for some kana to be studied, which most other news apps do not. But it still needs improvement in that department. Also no way to search by proficiency levels or subject matter. A cut above the rest, but still not quite there yet. Just needs some better kana translations and better search functions. Almost to TangoRista standards.

Great for learning/revising vocabularies. Overall loving the app as there are flashcards and later you'll be quizzed (you can choose the JLPT level). Also you can practice reading(news) and click on the words you don't understand. As far as I've tried, the learning is in the form of flashcards so it's a bit disappointing that there's no actual sentences to practice the real exam so I think it's suitable for those who wish to focus on practicing their vocabularies.

Thank you for providing your valuable feedback. We're actually working on some new kind of learning, not only focus on Flashcard but also Grammar. Stay tuned for a news update, very soon !!!

Great app. Especially love the tap to display dictionary features. Much easier than other apps that require you to 'carefully select/highlight the words + hitting the translate button'. If I have to be picky, that would be about the lack of option to translate multiple phrases or the whole sentence. Reading news is a bit too difficult for my current level. Please consider making a similar app but for Japanese child story.
