About this app

New to a Googlebook? Keycaps teaches you its keyboard: the G key, what changed from the computer you know, and the shortcuts worth having in your fingers.

Tell Keycaps where you came from (a Mac, a Windows PC, a Chromebook, or no laptop at all) and it starts with a page made for you: the keys that moved, the habits to unlearn, and the first shortcuts to learn.

• All 83 shortcuts in one place, in groups you can browse. Search by the keys you already know: type “spotlight” or “win e” and Keycaps finds the Googlebook way.
• Practice on the real keys. Rounds of eight, starting with the ones you haven’t practised yet. While a prompt is on screen, Keycaps takes the keys first, so G + L doesn’t lock your screen and nothing closes or snaps.
• How to customize: your own shortcuts, modifier keys, the assistant and default apps, key repeat, keyboard layout, keyboard accessibility and the Glowbar, each one click from the right page of Settings.
• One click to the system’s own list of keyboard shortcuts, the keyboard tutorial and Glowbar Disco.
• Big, clear keycaps and springy motion, light and dark, in Keycaps’ own colours or your wallpaper’s. Works with animations turned off.

Private by design: no internet access, no accounts, no ads, no analytics. What you’ve practised stays on your Googlebook.

For Googlebooks only.

Googlebook and the Glowbar are Google’s. Keycaps is an independent app by Fika Labs and is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
Learn your Googlebook’s keyboard shortcuts, and practise them on the real keys.
