About this app

TT9 is a Nokia-style 12-key T9 keyboard. It provides predictive text input in 40+ languages, configurable hotkeys, clipboard, undo/redo, and extensive customization. It works on touchscreens, hardware keypads, and TV remote controls. And best of all, it doesn't spy on you!

Supported languages: Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Simplified Chinese (Pinyin), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Farsi, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Gujarati (phonetic), Hebrew, Hindi (phonetic), Hinglish, Hungarian, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Japanese (Romaji), Kiswahili, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Romanian, Russian, Serbian (Cyrillic) Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Moroccan Tamazight (Latin and Tifinagh), Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Yiddish.

Philosophy:
- No spying, tracking, telemetry, reports, or data collection of any sort.
- No ads or unnecessary bells and whistles. It only does its job, typing.
- No unnecessary network connections. The Full version operates entirely offline, and the Lite version connects only to download dictionaries from GitHub. Voice Input may require Internet access, depending on the available voice services.
- Open-source, permitting you to verify all the above yourself.
- Created with help from the entire community.
- Things it will (probably) never have: QWERTY layout, swipe-typing, GIFs, and stickers.
- Not intended as a clone of Touchpal, Sony Ericsson, KaiOS, Samsung, etc. While it captures the feel of the classics, TT9 offers its own experience and won’t replicate any device or app exactly.

Thank you for understanding, and enjoy TT9!

I absolutely love this T9 keyboard. The keyboard that's featured in my phone was getting obnoxious with the autofill and predictive text. I just wanted a simple keyboard that worked well. I only use the pre-installed keyboard for passwords now. I hate using it even temporarily on my phone or other's. I will admit it took me a few days of adjustment, but now I type so much faster than I ever did on the other ones.

Indeed, TT9 is a very feature-rich keyboard, and setup may take some time. But on the other hand, it is what makes it possible to make it work exactly the way you want. Cheers!

For the most part, I really like this keyboard. I am legally blind, and the button layout is a great option for me. However, the keyboard does tend to crash when completing a search in google or in a website. In addition, i am kindly asking the developers to separate the Voice option from the clipboard button. I keep accidentally selecting the clipboard by mistake when I'm trying to long press to activate the voice feature. Most keyboards designed for accessibility have a separate voice button.

Admittedly, the app is not optimized for accessibility. I'll consider your suggestions for a future version. Thanks! As for the crashes when searching on Google, would it be possible for you to send more details to the support email? It does not happen on any of the testing devices, nor has anyone reported such problem whatsoever.

So far it's the closest I've came across to touchpal which I loved. I've found the way to make the space bar wider, I wish I could make it even larger or offset it to the left or right. I also would like to be able to change the bottom keys to what I want. Like I'd prefer the period and comma down there as I use them a lot, overall I'm happy with it. Oh and theme, make one purple lol

Thank you for the suggestions! I'll consider then for a future app version.

What’s new

v59.0 introduces a new, simpler "Retro" layout that makes touchscreen typing feel even closer to classic Nokia phones. It is also a solid replacement for discontinued T9 keyboard apps such as Old Keyboard and Big Old Keyboard.

This release also adds auto-spacing and auto-capitalization to ABC mode, expands the clipboard to hold up to 20 items, improves word suggestions, and updates the Bulgarian, English, and French dictionaries. As always, it includes many bug fixes and small improvements.
