# What is a "private" messenger?

It's a messenger:
- That does not push new contacts on you. You are in control: you choose who you want to discuss with. Olvid offers several ways to invite other Olvid users, either face-to-face or remotely.
- That does not require any personal data. Olvid won't ask for your phone number, for your email. Unlike your previous messenger, Olvid will never request access to your address book.
- On which you will never receive unsolicited messages or messages from an unknown source.

I rarely review apps but this one is just exceptional I say. Has the perfect ability to replace WhatsApp as a main tool but only the calls being subscription based stop it so. The media quality is great and it sounds better both on android and ios which rarely is the case with other apps. Whoever is behind this app, you are a great team. Just don't sell out to cheap billionaires

After every update waiting desperately for free voice call at least without subscription. Then only I can completely rely on this very app for everything or else I have to take support of other apps specially for calling.

The overall design is not really visually pleasing. It's a hostile environment for user friendliness. Wish we had better European messaging app alternatives. Hoping for updates.
