Elettro Acqua 3D is the first ever 3D audio concept album, and the first Italian app-album, designed to be listened on mobile devices, with headphones and earphones.
Unlike other popular concept albums, Elettro Acqua 3D is mixed in “dynamic 3D”. It doesn’t use holophonic recording or simple binaural colors, rather it comprises eleven “intro/expansions”, realized with different sound synthesis techniques and completely mixed as binaural. The intro/expansions link eleven synth-pop songs with a depth of sound, aiming to create an immersive listening experience.
It is also a concept album about “Water” (each song in the app has lyrics with an English translation below).
Elettro Acqua 3D showcases nine guests coming from five different countries (Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Kenya) and features a visual artist. The album has been produced with a massive range of electronic instruments: the most popular analogue synths, such as Arp2600 and VCS3, and the earlierst electroacoustic instruments such as for example the Trautonium and the ondes martenot.
