About this app

JISHINDESU helps you monitor earthquakes around the places that matter: home, work, family, or somewhere you plan to visit.

Instead of showing only where an earthquake occurred, JISHINDESU helps answer two practical questions for every saved place: “How strongly did it shake here?” and “What has happened nearby recently?”

■ Save the places that matter
• Save up to eight places
• Give each place a familiar name, such as Home, Work, or Family
• Set a monitoring radius and Shindo notification threshold for each place
• Automatically see places with the highest Shindo in the last 24 hours first

■ Explore earthquakes on the map
• View the epicenter, magnitude, depth, and maximum Shindo
• See Shindo readings recorded at JMA observation stations across the map
• Check the distance between an earthquake and every saved place
• See the nearest confirmed station reading for each saved place
• Open official JMA tsunami information when it matters

■ Review history and statistics
• Browse earthquake history for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or one year
• Explore monthly, yearly, nationwide, and saved-place history
• See earthquake counts, the strongest Shindo, and a Shindo breakdown for the selected period

■ Receive earthquake notifications
• Get notifications when confirmed Shindo information matches a saved place and its settings
• Choose a separate notification threshold for each place
• Configure quiet hours
• Open the relevant earthquake details directly from a notification

■ Learn without guessing
Read clear guides about the Shindo scale, JMA reports, tsunami information, preparedness, and monitoring important places.

■ No account required
JISHINDESU does not require an account. Saved-place names and precise coordinates are stored on your device. When coordinates are needed to retrieve nearby observations or configure notifications, they are sent temporarily and securely to the JISHINDESU API. Place names, precise coordinates, and location history are not retained on the server.

IMPORTANT
JISHINDESU is not an official Japan Meteorological Agency app. It does not issue Earthquake Early Warnings (EEW) or official tsunami warnings. The app displays confirmed JMA observation data, so reports and notifications may arrive after shaking begins.

If you feel danger, do not rely only on JISHINDESU. Check official information from JMA and local authorities, follow evacuation instructions, and act according to the conditions around you.
