It's almost the perfect Yu-Gi-Oh game. No XYZ, Synchro, Pendulum or other broken versions of the game. Just good old Battle City rules. Best game Konami's made since Silent Hills. It just needs a lot more dialogue variety. The fact I can't say lines like "Draw your last pathetic card, Yugi" or "I'll turn your own monster against you!" or "DURRAW! MONSTAH CAHDO!" makes me deeply sad inside.
This is definitely better than the other mobile Yu-Gi-Oh! game(s) such as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generations, because you can select the level of difficulty for "Legendary" duelists but at a in-game cost..keys which is fine because you can always easily grind for them by dueling some randomly generated AI duelists or the occasional "Legendary" duelist. But sadly this Yu-Gi-Oh! game is as basic as the show from season one of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Original Series which is good but for now there is alot of cards missing from the game's current roster. Here's hoping to have Synchro monsters added to the game!
Me being a real duelist myself, this helps me with coming up with strategies with my own Legendary Deck. This is even great for starters who don't know how to play that always want to learn, but nobody has the time to teach them. I always believe in one quote...and that is a lesson I'll never forget: "Believe in the heart of the cards"
Extremely easy, but the game rules aren't correct: you are supposed to start with 5 cards and draw at the start of every turn but instead you start with 4 and the first player to start doesn't draw, also the game board should have 5 slots for monsters and magic/trap cards not 3. Otherwise a good game, I like the pop up monsters, it adds an anime feel to it. And gems are easy to earn, slow to get but easy to obtain. Still don't know what the gold is for though, why have that currency at all?
This is clearly a passion project, so much love went into this game. Fantastic interface fun and easy to use. Excellent nostalgia trip and time killer. Does not compramise on game feel or mechanics. It is the card game through and through. The animations and voice work are stellar. 10/10 5/5 I hardly play mobile games but this one reached out and grabbed me by my childhood and said "Hey we're a good game and a awesome blast from the past! Also we love our players and shower them in gifts in game." So im super sold.
All I can say is that yu gi oh is one of my favorite card games during my child hood. This is by far one, if not the best yu gi oh video game ever created. I give it a 5/5, the game is enjoyable, user friendly, actually teaches you how to play the game and its fun for casual players or for people who don't know anything about yu gi oh altogether! Love the game, love the gameplay and more importantly I JUST LOVE YU GI OH!!
