Ratings and reviews

Faithful to the original and definitely playable on mobile thanks to the well though on-screen controls (of course taking into account the limitations of touch screens compared to pads). I remember being too young to fully appreciate this game when it came out, and it's a pleasure to be able to rediscover it years later. The gigantic castle of Dracula and its different sections are well designed and full of details. I only wish the game required less backtracking, but so are Metroidvanias.

Almost unplayable on some devices! This is a very poorly implemented port of an amazing game. I have a bigger screen than most phones (Honor X8) and the on-screen controls barely work because they are weirdly spaced. Almost every emulator on Android features freely movable on-screen buttons for exactly this reason. Castlevania features only sound settings. Appalling, would refund if I could despite only paying 2,99!

It's great to have an old fave available for my phone. Yet it's frustrating that the boost jump to get the map coverage and a few of the bonuses doesn't work. It's the spacing of the controller, which also makes doing the spells difficult too. They balanced it by making the spells castable instantly but that doesn't help the boost jump. Spacing is an issue on the right side of the controller too.
