This is Kindni, an app for recording kidney health.
We created this app for those concerned about their diet due to chronic kidney disease, those undergoing dialysis, and their family members caring for them.
In just 3 minutes a day, you can track your daily meals and your physical condition.
■ When you record what you ate, five key metrics for your kidneys are displayed.
We show you sodium, potassium, phosphorus, protein, and calories using traffic light colors. While typical diet apps focus on carbohydrates and fats,
these five factors are more important for kidney health.
■ You only need to enter the name of the food.
Based on public data from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Rural Development Administration, you can find approximately 320,000 food and processed food items.
Foods you actually eat, such as soybean paste stew, Shin Ramyun, and Hetban, will be searchable. Searching by name is always free.
For foods not on the list, you can register them yourself by taking a photo or a picture of the nutritional information on the packaging.
■ Many foods have no values for potassium and phosphorus
Potassium and phosphorus are items that do not necessarily have to be listed on nutrition labels, so many foods do not have values listed.
Since these values are essential for kidney care, we calculate them based on the ingredients and display them as '(Estimated)'.
Please note that this may differ from the actual values, so please use it for reference only.
■ Daily standards vary depending on the diagnosis
If you select a diagnosis you are managing, such as chronic kidney disease, dialysis, kidney transplant, diabetes/hypertension, or proteinuria,
we will calculate the corresponding daily reference standards and reflect them in the traffic light system (multiple selections are possible).
If you have specific goals set by your doctor, you can enter those numbers directly to view the data based on those standards.
■ A quick check once a day
Check your weight, blood pressure, sleep from last night, physical condition, and medication intake in a single line on a single card.
Weight has a separate tab where you can view weekly and monthly trends in a graph.
■ You can also find low-sodium recipes
You can view approximately 1,100 recipes from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety sorted by lowest sodium and lowest potassium.
Ingredients, instructions, and tips for making less salty dishes are included.
■ Use reports when visiting the hospital
You can create reports from your records, save them as PDFs, and send them. If you write down your appointment date, we will notify you the evening before, and you can create reports by selecting the 'since last appointment' period all at once.
If you take a picture of your test results from the hospital, we will transcribe the values into a table and summarize them in simple terms.
■ Medication, Water, and Weight Record Notifications
We select only the things you need to remember and notify you at your desired time. We provide quiet guidance without issuing warnings.
■ With family living far away
Only invited family members can view the records together, and we can write them down on your behalf.
■ Designed with the elderly in mind
Large fonts, large buttons, and simple Korean language. There are no hidden actions like long presses or swipes.
You can start immediately using your Kakao, Naver, or Google account.
