I've used Obsidian for a couple years. It's a very good note-taking app. Vault (a paid add-on) makes syncing across devices effortless, but other cloud solutions also work. Composing in markdown's fast: your hands never leave the keyboard. It stores notes in markdown, so there's no lock-in: you can open them in a text editor. Once a note is synced to your device, you can reliably get to it even when you're offline. Quirks are in tables (a bit clunky) and the outline (hard to find on phones).

ALMOST perfect. I have been using Obsidian and it's PC version for almost a year and half and I don't know how I could ever go back to writing and note taking without it. However, the mobile version lacks the ability to export notes into other formats such as PDF. If this got added for the android version in the same way that PC can, I will change my review to 5 Stars.

~~After granting permissions, the app was unable to create a folder for my first vault. No problem, I thought. I'll just create the folder myself! Wrong, this didn't work, even though I tricked the app into adding it to my vault list so I could select it, I still get an error. Oh well!~~ (edit: got it working. not sure what the fix even was. Great app. Am now a premium user) edit: Plugins can introduce conflicts and other weird issues, so be careful with those.
