Walking is the thing we all know is good for us and still skip.
The next episode of the show. Tonight's game on TV. One more level in a videogame. Those we never skip. They have a next chapter, so we come back.
reTrek gives your walks the next chapter too. Your real steps carry you along a famous trail: to Everest Base Camp, across the Camino, over the Inca Trail. Or through a story quest where your choices shape the ending.
Walk it on your own, or share the route: pool your steps with friends to finish together, or race them to the top.
The number isn't the point. The journey is. And it is even better shared.
HOW IT WORKS
- Pick a route or a story quest.
- Walk in real life. Your evening loop, the dog walk, the trip to the shop. All of it counts.
- Reach a milestone, and something opens up: a short film about the place you have reached, or the next chapter of your quest.
WALK TOGETHER, OR RACE
Walking alone is easy to skip. Walking when someone is counting on your steps is not.
- Team up on a route and pool your steps toward a finish you reach together.
- Or race. Everyone walks the whole route, and the first to the finish wins.
- Follow friends and fellow adventurers, cheer each other on, and watch who is pulling ahead.
The evening walk you would have skipped becomes the one that keeps you in the race.
ALONG THE WAY
Something to look forward to, and proof of how far you have come.
- Earn badges for distance walked, routes finished, and days on the move.
- Level up as you keep walking, and collect a shareable card for every route you finish and every quest ending you reach.
- See a weekly recap of how far you have come.
ROUTES AND QUESTS
A growing collection of famous trails to walk and story quests to follow, from a marathon's 42 km to the Camino's 780 km. Trek to Everest Base Camp, walk the Camino de Santiago, cross the Inca Trail, follow the Nakasendo from Kyoto to Tokyo. Solve a mystery in 14th-century Provence, or carry a letter through 1820s Italy. New routes and quests added regularly.
WORKS WITH YOUR PHONE AND YOUR TRACKER
reTrek reads your steps from Health Connect, so it works as a pedometer with the phone in your pocket, and with Garmin, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Fitbit, Polar, Oura and other trackers as long as they write steps to Health Connect. Progress updates a few times an hour, even with the app closed. The walking works offline; some milestone content needs the internet to load.
