About this app

This tiny app can add a "Web search" action to the text selection toolbar on Android.

It also adds a "Web search" as target for sharing text.

The default search engine can be configured in its settings page, openable in Custom Tabs toolbar, or the App info page for this app in system Settings.

Text selection toolbar requires Android 6.0 or above, so this app requires it as well.

perfect and system. the worst thing that can possibly happen from having this app installed is that you can have two separate 'Web Search' options in the selected text pop-up/context menu - if this happens both options literally do the same thing! No biggie

been 3 more years and I can't live without it - summer 2026. Since Chrome is the only Chromium browser that won't add a "share link or text to browser" in the share sheet, this app is a godsend. If I need to share anything to open in Chrome, this does it! Edge, Samsung Internet, etc all have a shortcut in Share but not Chrome! Thanks, this app does exactly what it says it will. when using YouTube, when I highlight some text I've written in the comments box so that I can check spelling or research a name, etc. I don't see a web search option in the drop down box. It's still the same old, copy, paste, select all, but no web search option. I thought this app provided that. I'm using Android 15.
