Make Bitflinger TV Your Home Screen (Optional)

On Google TV and Android TV, Bitflinger TV can optionally replace your default
home screen so the app you actually watch from opens the moment you turn on the
TV. This feature is entirely optional, turned off by default, and you choose to
enable it during setup.

To deliver it, Bitflinger TV uses the Android AccessibilityService API. When —
and only when — you enable "Override Home Button" in Settings, the service:

- Detects the Home button press (filtering the key event) so it can open
Bitflinger TV instead of the system launcher.
- Watches for window-state changes so that if the system launcher appears on its
own (for example, after a period of inactivity), Bitflinger TV is brought back
to the foreground.

The service does not read screen content, collect personal or sensitive data, or
share anything with third parties. It is used solely to launch Bitflinger TV as
your home experience, and you can disable it at any time in Settings.

Free Tier & Subscription

Bitflinger TV is free to use for as long as you like — a real account, not a
countdown. Free covers genre selection, the smart watchlist, search and detail
screens, Plex & Jellyfin, and your personalized streaming services — on up to 3
devices, with the first 250 titles in each row.*

An optional auto-renewing subscription adds every title in every row, unlimited
devices, filters for critic/user score and release date, personalized themes and
card styles, and Google Family Group sharing:

New subscribers get a free trial where Google Play offers one, with terms shown
before you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at
least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Google Play >
Subscriptions; canceling drops you to the free version.

* Free rows show the first 250 unfiltered results rather than the full catalog
behind them. That cap is what keeps the free tier viable; a subscription
removes it.
