Demon Castle Story is a fun, chill management game with that classic Kairosoft charm. Building up your demon castle is satisfying, the pixel art is nice, and it’s easy to pick up for short sessions. It can get a little repetitive later on, but overall it’s a solid, cozy time. If its progression was more similar to Dungeon Village 2 it would be a perfect 5 of 5 stars for me.

This game is absolutely addicting. It's a Dungeon game but with more monster capture elements. You can freely make and remake your base to look however you like and there's many reasons to make a new game when you've hit 15yrs (transfer +1 monster and wairo statue). Eventually it gets easier and easier to get 5 stars. There is also a hard mode if it's too easy. I wish there were more base customizing options for themed looks (lava rooms, graveyard rooms, beach, etc), but would recommend.

Another interesting twist on classic Kairosoft gameplay! While it can be tricky to get the hang of room layouts and monster levelling, and some traps seem far more useful than others (looking at you, goo trap+punch machine), once things click, you're in for a satisfying time. It's fun seeing all the familiar hero classes flood into your castle looking for trouble.
