About this app

MiaoMath (on Android phones and tablets, English&中文) is an advanced Maths app for Year 5+ students who want to take up scholarship Maths tests, STEM Maths, or simply to enhance and extend Maths skills.
It has a very large number (almost unlimited) of exercise questions covering a wide range of areas.
It provides color-coded step by step walk-through solutions for all questions as well as answers. It is good for learning.
It is equipped with feedback and revision capability, interweaved with handy navigation facilities.
Furthermore, each question has a difficulty rating.

Exercise questions are divided into areas: Numbers, Fractions, Measurement, Date-Day-Time, Charts, Geometry, Patterns, Speed & Travel, Ratio, Algebra, Probability. The majority of questions are Problem-Solving questions, covering sum on difference, sum on times, difference on times, tree planting, travel, meet/chase, ship travel, project and crew, liquid concentration, pigeon hole , cow grazing, profit and loss, sequence, sum of sequence, ratio equation, proportional distribution, factorization, prime numbers, common factors, common multiples, periodical problems, profit and discount, bank interest, defining new operators, sorting, volume, surface area, counting, etc.

Questions are dynamically generated from purposely designed question templates.

The built-in color-coded, step-by-step walk-through solutions act like a tutor, demonstrating how to answer questions and solve problems, one step at a time. It encourages a student to work on questions and solve problems in their own pace. This will help a student to learn or to explore for different strategies. For many questions, different solutions (in step by step) are provided. This helps a student to expand skill sets.

Furthermore, a student is able to focus on a specific area, or even on a specific type of question if needed. This is helpful for a student to strengthen a specific skill. He/she can also choose a question according to difficulty.

This App has all questions and answers in both English and Chinese.

Once installed on your phone or tablet, the app can be used at any spare, fragmented time and at any place and can save time and resources on travelling to the teacher's/after-hour school. No network connection is required. There are no advertisements in the App. No private data is collected by the App.

Because this is an App for young kids, parents’ involvement is crucial. Parents/Guardians can help as well as monitor their young kids in learning. The good news is, you do not have to be a Maths teacher to do so. The App has all the answers and steps you need.
