Fits the bill. I'm getting used to it. Lean learning curve. Would prefer a long touch for selecting multiple files. Much simpler. Good thing it has root available. These guys were smart to reduce the price, now that ES has become ad garbage. I definitely recommend getting this and rid yourself of ES. Plz make it work w Android TV
Update 11/25/2017: Ability to view picture thumbnails via smb has finally been implemented...I will give five stars when two other options will be added. 1. Hide smb directories of choice without doing rename with . In front of a name. 2. Ability to use fingerprint or iris scan for keyring password access.
I love this app. It does everything you want in a file manager: connects with Dropbox and Google Drive, transfer files by sftp, allows one device to manipulate files on another device of yours, allows multiple tabs for easy navigation. The only thing it doesn't have is the ability to set a default sort order when listing the contents of particular folders, like, say, your Downloads folder (because it's very rare that I need to sort my Downloads folder by anything else but by date).
I used to absolutely love this app, and I had it installed in every single device I had. Then first problem was that I had to allow the app to access my files each and every time I wanted to use it, and now I also have to shut off every other apps ability to use pop up notifications in order to use it. Enough is enough. As much as I like what this app is capable of, I've grown tired of the redundant routine whenever I wish to use it. Unless the situation changes, this is the time to say goodbye
I used to use ES File Explorer, and I used to think that it was the best there was. Then they started introducing ads, unwanted features, and spyware and I decided I needed to find an alternative. I searched for days but nothing was able to do the things ES did. Then I found FX. FX is great. It can manage files, tell me where duplicates are, and go to the root of the filesystem, just like ES. It also showed accurate sizes, came with built-in tools, and provided easy to use menus, also like ES. However, unlike ES, it doesn't have ads, it doesn't pester you, and it respects your privacy. It also does things that ES wouldn't do, like show folder sizes! I recommend this to anyone who wants a good file manager without all the bullcrap. I would like to give this 5 stars, but I haven't seen everything this app has to offer--I'm going to buy pro and check that out too!
Wont lie, i am pretty much using this because Solid explorer hasnt updated and still uses smbv1 which is not secure. Its a big change in UI but it gets the job done, had to disable a fair ammount of features i didnt care for like tips and the text editor shortcut. Would probably dominate if it supported smbv3
