About this app

An Android application to disseminate information about research carried out using passive electromagnetic technique, known as magnetotelluric, for various applications like hydrocarbon exploration, geothermal exploration, tectonic studies, etc., in India and the world.

The MT introduction

This layout gives (first screen) the brief introduction of Magnetotelluric(MT), which explains how this technique will work, what is the source for it, its relevance, and its applications. This page comprises the image, which depicts how the data was acquired during MT investigations in different places.

MT locations in India

This layout gives (second screen) information about the locations of MT, LMT, and Marine MT investigations(soundings) carried out in India. This map shows the different investigations in different colors (i.e., MT- in Blue, LMT - in red, MMT – in pink). This map also has the feature of zooming and sliding as per the user's requirement.

Data and Model

This layout reveals important information about published results of various MT investigations carried out in India for different applications, such as geothermal reservoirs, mineral explorations, tectonic studies, etc.
In this layout user has option to choose data or model to see the data response (Apparent Resistivity and Phase curves) of various investigations or results (Models or imaging of the study). If the data option is selected, it will show the different profiles carried in India, with different colors for different studies (MT, LMT, and Marine MT). It also displays published soundings and unpublished soundings in different colors. If the user wants to see the data response curve of the particular soundings, one needs to tap or click it once. Then it will display the response curve of that particular sounding.
If the model option is selected, it will show the different profiles (lines) or different grids (rectangles) of Magnetotelluric studies carried out in different locations for different purposes. If the user wants to see the results of the particular study, they need to tap or click on the profile or the grid. Then, it shows the study model (results).
