About this app

Fractal Bits is a drum synth with over four billion unique sounds created by fractal algorithms.
Each set of 12 drums corresponds to a code of 8 characters (you can save/copy/paste it as plain text).

Features:
* search for new sounds with three buttons: next random set, edit code, previous set;
* three types of keyboards for live drumming: on-screen buttons, PC keyboard, USB MIDI input (Android 6+);
* several processing parameters + control via MIDI;
* real-time audio recording to WAV (32-bit);
* export to: WAV (one file or a set), SunVox (samples + effects in one file), text clipboard;
* the LCK button freezes individual drums - they will not change during the search for new sets.

Double clicking on a parameter opens a window for setting the exact value.

If you enable the Hold option, the notes will play endlessly, without reacting to key release (noteOff) events; turning the note on again works like turning it off; there are two ways to enable this option:
1) using the Hold parameter in the "MIDI Mapping" window;
2) by pressing the HOLD button, which appears in place of LCK while playing the musical keyboard: press HOLD, release the desired notes - then the released notes will continue to play.

Amazing app. Secret weapon. Fbits generates endless dope percussives I use constantly in my tracks. Glitchy and weird in the best possible way. The bitredux algorithm is excellent. The sound and interface are totally unique. Pure genius and always a source of fun and inspiration. If you have an MPC / Digitakt / or any other type of hardware sampler or make beats of some sort of another, you should have this app. The price is unbeatable for what you get.

This thing is a bad mamma jamma. One of the most of not the most unique purcusion apps/software I've ever used. Very crisp and clear sound even when destroying the LoFi. Worth 10 times the asking price. 4 stars because it would really benefit from (1) a way to favorite sounds and (2) a sequencer of any kind for making beats/loops. But that set aside this app is a stand alone as I have never heard anything like it. I will integrate this into my music and it will definitely inspire me.

Absolutely beautiful app for fast creation/generation of unique percussive. It takes just a split second to generate 16 unique sounds that can be jammed on and set to make an ideal set. You can export them as a lot, or import them right to sunvox. The tones and shuffling through them is a great place to start for inspiration. Get this app, it's worth the 0.000000000001c per sound you will make with it BY FAR.
