About this app

With the help of this application it is possible to measure both physical activity and fitness. The number of steps someone takes per day is a measure of physical activity. Certainly when this is measured for several days to weeks in a row, it gives a reliable picture of a person's physical activity. This application measures all the steps you take during a day.

To get an impression of a person's fitness, it is possible to have that person perform a 6-minute walk test. During a 6-minute walk test, the maximum distance a person can walk during 6 minutes of walking is measured. The result of this 6-minute walk test gives an impression of someone's fitness.

Measurements of physical activity and fitness may add value to treatment. These measurements could, for example, play a role in choosing the right treatment and the early identification of physical deterioration during treatment, so that adequate intervention can be made, for example by calling in a physiotherapist.

The registration of steps and movement is done through an integration with Google fit.

This application has been developed on behalf of medical specialists working in the Medical Oncology department of various university hospitals. The Medical Oncology department specializes in the treatment of patients with various forms of cancer. In addition, this department conducts a great deal of research into the development of (supportive) treatments for cancer.

All data collected with this application is shared with the healthcare provider, it is not shared with third parties.
