About this app

The Bucket Test app is a free companion to the Driller's Toolbox app, also available from Google Play. It can be used to measure water flow using the bucket test method, in which the time it takes to fill a container is measured. Bucket tests are commonly done during pumping tests. Usually, this is done using a stopwatch and a notebook, which is error-prone and clumsy.

This app has a simple user interface for specifying the container size, and for starting and stopping a timer. The app automatically calculates the flow, and attaches a timestamp to the data. Data can be shared to the Driller's Toolbox app through Bluetooth, or to any other app such as email, WhatsApp, or a notepad app.

The app can work with SI and Imperial units, and is available in English, French, and Portuguese.

The Bucket Test app was created and supported by Practica Foundation (practica.org), with support from Groundwater Relief and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
