Common First Aid Situations
The app offers help with the most common first aid situations. There are spoken instructions in serious situations such as unconsciousness, burns and CPR. You will also find written instructions on more than 80 situations where first aid is necessary, such as (cuts) wounds, bruises, insect stings, allergic reactions, hyperventilation, epilepsy and panic attacks.

Which accidents? No hospital or 112, but first aid
The app is mainly intended for accidents where medical help from a doctor is not immediately necessary, but where it is necessary to provide first aid yourself. The app gives you the information you need. For example, what do you do after contact with the hairs of the oak processionary caterpillar or with the juices of the hogweed? What do you do with a splinter or a nosebleed?

We indicate for each accident or situation how you recognize the situation. Then we explain in clear steps what you can do yourself. Of course we also indicate when it is wise to contact the general practitioner or the general practitioner, or to call 112.

CPR help
For CPR, the app provides a voice prompt. The app guides you through CPR in twelve clear steps. This allows you to act correctly medically in a stressful situation. The instruction can be paused at any time. It is also possible to call 112 directly from the instruction menu.

There is also a spoken instruction with clear steps and the option to call 112 immediately for unconsciousness, heavy bleeding, burns, poisoning and severe choking.

Note: The app does not indicate where AEDs are located.

First aid products and courses
In the app you will find a link to the webshop of the Dutch Red Cross. We have various first aid kits and cases, textbooks and AEDs. You will also find first aid courses in the webshop. There is a choice between online introductory courses, CPR courses, extended courses or additional courses.

The Dutch Red Cross
The Red Cross offers help to people in need. Close if you sprain your ankle during a match, but also far away. We offer assistance through 197 departments, for example during events and disasters. The Dutch Red Cross is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. With the first aid app we want to contribute to our goal: to provide help to people in need.

This app could be a good addition to emergency situations, however I can not find a language selection. It only seems to run in Dutch.

This app is super nicely done! It's a pity I cannot set a different language as a non-dutch speaker leaving in the Netherlands! I cannot even install the corresponding app of a different country. Please check this out. About a quarter of the people (above 15yo) living in the Netherlands is not speaking Dutch, it's really a pity to lose on such a nicely made app.

Looks like a handy app but unfortunately it's only in Dutch which excludes expats. Even though I'm learning Dutch, I prefer to have no doubt about instructions given in a life-threatening situation.
