Gap trainer: the metronome that mutes itself
Every metronome lets you lean on the click. This one takes the click away. Choose how many bars play and how many bars stay silent: the metronome counts you in, goes quiet, then comes back so you hear whether you sped up, slowed down or lost the bar. Muted beats, silent beats, gap click — whatever you call it, this is how you build a steady inner clock instead of following a sound. Free, with no subscription.

Precision you can rely on
A rewritten low-latency audio engine keeps every beat exact, with no drift even after thousands of bars. Tempo from 41 to 300 BPM, and you can raise the ceiling to 900 BPM in settings for extreme speed practice.

Do not know the BPM of a song? Tap along and the app calculates the tempo. Or tap the BPM display and type an exact number.

Beat patterns and drum machine
Build your own bar in the pattern editor: set the time signature, then mark each beat as an accent, a normal beat or a rest. Your pattern appears on the main screen and lights up on every beat, and any edit applies instantly while the metronome keeps playing.

Six studio sounds, each with its own accent
A clean tonal studio click, a classic mechanical metronome, a wood click, a synthesized drum kit with kick and snare, a synth bass and a beep. Change the pitch so the click is audible over a loud instrument, and switch sounds without stopping the metronome.

Hear it, see it, or feel it
Follow the beat on screen, or turn the sound off completely and practice visually. Vibration marks every beat with a stronger pulse on accents, so you can keep time on a loud stage or silently in a shared room. Vibration is free here, not a paid extra.

Presets
Save, load and delete complete setups: tempo, time signature, pattern and sound. Build one preset per song or per exercise and recall it in one tap.

For practice, rehearsal and stage
Scales, sight reading, drilling a hard passage, band rehearsal, teaching, live performance — and anything else that needs a steady pulse, from running cadence to dance class. Your settings are saved automatically. Phones and tablets, 15 languages.

Excellent, works great with multiple instruments, has the tones needed, speed can be adjusted, plus the ads are tolerable & not all "in your face", that being sad, support the Dev with pro, highly recommend!

There is a latency once the tap tempo takes hold and it throws the whole thing off. pretty much defeats the purpose.

This app helps me with keeping my rythem better while playing trombone but I would like it to be easier to find the speed we need 😀
