DietducateX is an application used to support the Obesity Prevention & Treatment through an Intervention Mobile App (OptimApp) research project. The app helps users or research participants record and monitor information related to nutrition and weight management.
Data that may be recorded or processed through the app includes account information, date of birth, sex, height, weight, waist circumference, food logs, water intake records, physical activity or exercise records, progress photos, and questions submitted through the nutritionist consultation feature.
This data is used to support app functions, help users sign in securely, calculate BMI, target BMI, and estimate energy needs, and monitor food intake, activity, and progress over time.
For OptimApp research participants, app data and related research data may be used to run, monitor, and evaluate the research project; assess engagement, behavior change, and weight-management outcomes; and prepare reports, publications, or theses. Access to identifiable research data is limited to authorized research team members. Research findings are generally reported in anonymised, pseudonymised, or aggregated form.
The OptimApp research project has received ethical approval from the University of Leeds and Jember State Polytechnic. Further information is available in the Privacy Policy, Participant Information Sheet, and Participant Consent Form.
