It _may_ however work on other devices too.

The user is shown static text. He should then move as far from the screen as possible until the text becomes a little blurry. After that, the user either presses a camera button or a volume button or quickly covers his nose with a palm which triggers the measurement action. The app measures the distance from the phone screen to the user's face (to the tip of user's nose) and uses this information to give the user an approximate amount of optic correction in diopters which the user would need to see clearly.
The user's progress is tracked within the app, and can be viewed using in-app charts or a table.
The progress can be imported / exported.

A note on astigmatism:

Some people, including the app author, have pretty bad astigmatism which makes it very difficult to find the edge of blur. Here are some tips to solve this:

* Keep practicing. Eventually you should be able to distinguish between the edge of blur and the double vision.
* You can try to use glasses or contacts which only correct the astigmatism (to certain degree) during the measurement.

Ratings and reviews

Very useful! For us high myopes who measure in differentials it would be great to be able set those diopters in the app. Maybe in the settings. Toggle on/off whether you have them on or not. Then it could add those diopters to the readouts instead of having to add them in separately. It would make the progress tracker more helpful for me!

The app is excellent and works well for measuring myopia. It would be even more helpful if it included blog posts (about diopters, myopia science, personal stories), community discussions, and a complete End Myopia guide. These additions could turn it into a one-stop platform-not just for tracking but also for building a deeper understanding of vision improvement.

Very useful in saying what my eye perscription is. It's very accurate once you understand it better. I have yet to find a way for it to properly display data. I have yet to be able to use it for different times of day. If you can screenshot the number it tells you though. You're all set!
