Almost gave this 3 stars! Out of Kie Brooks' 3 CYOA novels, 'Already Dead?' is the best written. Instead of a dense minefield of game overs, with 1 correct path... Already dead slowly explores, gaining power and recall. I did somehow soft-lock myself my first run. But you look for clues and then get to investigate 4 different suspects closely. I was sure it was suspect A. Yet the game told me it wasnt him. I retry and it says it was him! So I retry again, same clues. But it wasn't him? Random.

This is far too simple, the clues are the same every time, you're always guessing and always right because it's obvious. I was hoping for an in-depth challenge what I got instead was a board game idea with about as much depth as a parking lot puddle...

I correctly guessed the culprit in my first try but I still think this is one pointless game. It's short alright, and the culprit is randomized. However, it's not a proper murder mystery because the story never changes depending on the choices you make and the randomization of the culprit. Basically, the culprit is random while the story and clues are fixed, so your choices and the clues are useless and it all just boils down to luck and guesswork. Also, the writing itself is not that good and there are more mistakes than I would have liked.

What’s new

Fixed a bug (for real, this time) where the app could lose progress when the app goes into the background. If you enjoy "Dead Already?", please leave us a written review. It really helps!
