Mastodon is built with a focus on privacy and safety. Decide whether your posts are shared with your followers, just the people you mention, or the whole world. Content warnings let you hide posts containing sensitive or triggering material until you're ready to engage with them. Each community has its own guidelines and moderators to keep its members safe, and robust blocking and reporting tools help prevent abuse.

Ratings and reviews

It's fast, and clean. And all the good things that comes with decentralized apps. Feature request: - language filter: "following tags" is a useful feature, but is unusable without having a language filter. - bookmark folders - If dark mode is active, make splash screen (the white screen that opens for a fraction of second when the app is starting) have a dark background. It's a very common problem with many apps that makes my sensitive eyes tear up.

For every one quirk, there are two pros, not missing Facebook, Twitter or Reddit in the slightest with this. Improved a lot over earlier versions, far more responsive, organised and overall more pleasant to work with in terms of the UI, app and the people therein. Love that you can mute specific servers and avoid unnecessary agro.

I love Mastodon, but lately this app has been extremely glitchy. Eg, right now I am unable to send any posts, the app will not update notifications, etc & just keeps buffering. The issue was taken care of very promptly by the instance administrator within minutes of finally getting a post through telling them about it. They genuinely care at Mastodon.

We bring you: Lists! Bring order to your home feed by creating custom lists for topics or moods, and switch easily between them right on the Home tab. Adding someone to a list has never been easier. Quickly access followed hashtags there, too!
